Jakarta, December 15, 2016 - In order to accommodate the needs of Lion Air Group customers on Christmas Season 2016 and the New Year 2017, Lion Air plans to add 51 flights to provide 10,200 additional seats per day. Besides Lion Air, Batik Air is also planning to offer 36 additional flights or 7,200 additional seats per day.
This is done to be able to anticipate the increasing number of passengers in the period from the end of this year. Please note that the addition of Lion Air flight frequencies and Batik Air will be done if the capacity of the regular flight schedule over capacity and can not be accommodated. The addition of a new schedule will start operating from December 16, 2016 until January 15, 2017 if needed.
"The additional frequency of flights will be spread over several cities that are considered to have a maximum occupancy that necessary to add so our customers can be served and accommodated well to their desired destinations," said Edward Sirait, President Director of Lion Air Group.
Some destinations are planned to be added, namely the frequency of its flights such as Medan, Batam, Padang, Pekanbaru, Surabaya, Semarang, Solo, Malang, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Denpasar, Lombok, and Makassar.
Currently Batik Air and Lion Air operate a fleet of total 153 aircraft type Boeing 737-800 / 900 ER, Airbus A320, Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A330 - 300 with the frequency of flights up to 800 per day.
